At the Louis Riel Institute Archives and Special Collection, we collect, preserve, arrange, and share the records, artifacts, and cultural heritage of the Red River Métis. Our physical and digital holdings include items related to Métis history, culture, and languages.
The collection contains textual records, artifacts, music, language recordings, photographs, books, and art work, created and donated by the Manitoba Métis Federation and Métis families.
Currently, our work involves processing and organizing the collection in order to make it usable by the public for learning, genealogy, and research.
