Adult Learning Centre

The Louis Riel Institute Adult Learning Centre is committed to assisting learners in the completion of their Mature Student High School Diploma or upgrading in order to gain admission to post-secondary institutions. Our program is open to all students who reside in Manitoba.

We offer a variety of Manitoba high school credits, both through in-person and online study options. Our school runs from September to June every year. We have continuous intake until we reach capacity. Courses are currently asynchronous and self-paced.

Monday to Friday - 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Here is a list of the courses we will be offering for our 2025-26 school year:

ELA 40S - Transactional	ELA 40S - Comprehensive
Essential Mathematics 40S	Applied Mathematics 40S
Chemistry 30S	Chemistry 40S
Life/Work Transitioning 40S	Physical Education / Health 40F
Psychology 40S

Courses start September , 2026 until June, 2027 with asynchronous enrollment throughout the year.

Courses are closed throughout the summer break (June-August)

All registration will be submitted online. We will be accepting registrations until March 2027 for the 2026-2027 year. Please submit your contact information to the email below for the registration form.

A transcript is required for registration
Government-issued photo ID is required
Some courses require prerequisites:
- Applied Mathematics 40S: Applied Mathematics 30S or Introduction to Applied & Pre-Calculus Mathematics 20S
- Chemistry 40S: Chemistry 30S
- Physics 40S: Applied Mathematics 40S, Pre-Calculus Mathematics 40S, or Physics 30S

Programs

Mature Student High School Diploma

Are you 19 years of age or older, and have you been out of school for more than six months? If yes, then you qualify for the 8-credit Mature Student High School Diploma Program. Registration is $25.75 (non-refundable) per school year.

Post Diploma Upgrading

Are you already a high school grad, but need specific courses to further your education? If yes, then you can complete up to 4 courses at our centre. Registration is $65.75 (non-refundable).
