New Online Application Portal for Award and Bursary Applications

Attention to Red River Métis Grade 12 and Post-Secondary Students!

The Louis Riel Institute's Bursaries and Awards department is excited to announce an array of fantastic award opportunities available for Red River Métis students. With the launch of our new online application portal, accessing these opportunities has never been easier.

The Louis Riel Bursary offers support to post-secondary students enrolled in one of several institutions across Manitoba. Additionally, the following awards are now accessible through our online platform:

  • Senator Gerry & Margaret St. Germain Award: Designed to empower outstanding Grade 12 students in Manitoba who excel in math and/or science while actively contributing to their community.
  • Mary Guilbault Métis Award: Geared towards exceptional post-secondary students in Manitoba demonstrating academic excellence and a commitment to community involvement.
  • Red River Métis & Cantor's Family Award: Supporting students enrolled in butcher/abattoir, culinary arts, agricultural programs, or related fields within Manitoba.
  • Manitoba Métis Federation-Vickar Community Chevrolet Student Award: Available exclusively to Red River Métis students enrolled at Red River College Polytechnic, offering support across various programs including Automotive Technician, Collision Repair & Refinishing, Business Administration, and more.
  • Audreen Hourie Indigenous Governance Graduate Fellowship: Specifically for Red River Métis students enrolled at the University of Winnipeg in programs such as Masters of Aboriginal Governance or Masters of Development Practice, emphasizing community engagement and financial need.
