May 21, 2024 to June 28, 2024

Invitation to Register for 2024 School Workshops at Riel House National Historic Site

Dear Educators,

I hope this message finds you well. As we approach the vibrant season of spring, we are excited to extend an invitation to you and your school to participate in the upcoming 2024 School Workshops at Riel House.

Please see the posters below, as well as the website links below.

Join us for a fun, interactive, and engaging experience hosted by Red River Métis Youth Interpreters in either French or English.

In a scenic spot tucked into a St. Vital neighbourhood, your team will discover Louis Riel, honourary First Premier of Manitoba, and the home of his family, river lot systems, and Red River frame construction. Workshops include weaving a petite ceinture fléchée, butter making, jigging and spoons instruction, and a tour of the House. Workshops will be suitable for the age of your group.

Learn more and engage in conversations about the unique culture of the Red River Métis, and how the Riel family was pivotal in the history and foundation of our Province of Manitoba.

  • Cost is only $6.50 per participant if you book by April 1, 2024, $8.50 afterwards
  • When: Weekdays from May 21 to June 28 (rush booking)
  • Times: 10:00 am -12:00 pm, or 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
